Hey everyone 👋

Wanted to open up a thread for fellow builders, devs, and anyone navigating the chaos that is project development in web3.

I’ve been deep in the trenches on a new project over the past few months — building a decentralized tool for [insert rough idea: eg., DAO governance, NFT utility, DeFi aggregation, etc.]. It’s been exciting, but also... a test of patience, persistence, and caffeine tolerance 😅

Some thoughts I’ve been sitting with:

  • Scope creep is real. Every week it feels like there's a new must-have feature that “shouldn’t take long” (spoiler: it always does).

  • Community feedback is gold — but also overwhelming. Balancing what users want vs. what the roadmap needs is tricky.

  • Choosing the right stack/tools takes longer than it should. You think you’ve settled, then someone says “why not use [new hot thing]?”

  • Building in a bear market can feel thankless, but maybe that’s also the best time to build long-term.

If you’re building something — even if it’s just an idea or early-stage MVP — I’d love to hear how it’s going:

  • What stage are you at (idea, prototype, testnet, mainnet)?

  • What’s been your biggest unexpected challenge so far?

  • Are you building solo or with a team/DAO?

  • How are you managing scope, timelines, and sanity?

Let’s share wins, struggles, and lessons learned. It’s easy to feel isolated building in this space — but we’re all in the same messy boat. Drop your thoughts, link your project if you want feedback, or just vent if you're feeling the grind.

We got this 💪 Let’s keep building.

Love this thread — really resonates. Appreciate you sharing the real, behind-the-scenes grind.

I’m currently building an early-stage DeFi analytics dashboard — kind of a “Glassnode-lite” aimed at smaller protocols and individual LPs who don’t want to pay enterprise-level prices. We’re still in prototype mode, just getting the basic data pipeline and frontend stitched together.

Totally feel you on scope creep. We started with 3 KPIs… now the community wants 15 charts, wallet alerts, a Telegram bot, and custom metrics for every protocol under the sun 😂

Biggest challenge so far? Honestly, just staying consistent. Momentum is hard when there’s no hype cycle to ride. Also, finding the balance between “move fast” and “don’t build a spaghetti mess you'll regret in 3 months.”

I’m working with one other dev and a part-time designer. We're bootstrapping for now, hoping to maybe join a DAO or get a small grant once we have something solid to demo.

Re: stack — we went with Next.js, Supabase, and Dune APIs to keep things lean, but now I'm second-guessing and looking at The Graph + custom indexing… so yeah, decision paralysis is real 😅

Would love to hear more about what you’re building too — feel free to drop a link if you’re open to feedback.

To everyone else out there building in silence: hang in there. The bear market filters out the noise, but the real ones are still here shipping.

Keep going, fam 👊
