Hey folks 👋

Just wanted to open up a conversation about working in crypto — whether you're full-time at a protocol, freelancing across DAOs, or just trying to land your first gig in Web3.

Personally, I started dabbling as a freelancer during the last cycle. It was chaotic (in a fun way 😅), but the opportunities were everywhere if you knew where to look and could deliver. Lately, though, things feel... quieter but more mature. Less hype, more substance. Clients actually care about deliverables now — imagine that.

Some things I’ve noticed:

  • Rates are still decent, but people expect proof of work (understandably).

  • DAOs are great for initial gigs, but can be messy if you don’t clarify scope/payment early.

  • A solid portfolio — even just a Notion or GitHub page — goes a long way.

  • Twitter and Discord are still underrated places to network.

  • Tons of work in content, design, community, analytics — not just dev roles.

Curious where others are finding work these days:

  • Are you using job boards like CryptoJobs, Work3, or TalentLayer?

  • Any DAOs or ecosystems that are particularly freelancer-friendly right now?

  • How are you managing invoices, payments (fiat vs crypto), or even taxes?

Let’s make this thread useful for newcomers and vets alike. Share your tips, red flags, go-to platforms, or just your freelance journey so far.

Web3 still needs builders — let’s help more folks get in the game 🚀
